Earlier in the year I was contacted by the Scottish Medicines Consortium who asked if Menopause Support would make a submission to the committee explaining why they should approve Ospemifene, an oral drug for vaginal atrophy.
I asked the members of my FB group and Jane Lewis’ FB group for their thoughts and then wrote the submission explaining that the drug would offer options to women who can’t tolerate vaginal oestrogen and was important to consider for any woman who required personal care including many elderly women living with debilitating urinary & vaginal symptoms.
I am delighted to say that yesterday the SMC approved Ospemifene.
