Having the subject of menopause taught to both boys and girls in school alongside periods and pregnancy will be a great step forward, Menopause Support campaign founder Di Danzebrink told BBC ‘s Look East television news programme.
“Up to now there has been no point inĀ our lives when we are taught formally about it, so women arrive at menopause not understanding what’s happening to them and men have no clue” Di said.
“So if we have a greater understanding, then hopefully that will give us more compassion for each other, and certainly more empathy, and we need that not just within our relationships but also in the workplace and with our friends and family.” she added.
