***UPDATE: Monday 24 July – the Facebook ad is now running following a lifting of the “ban”. No contact has been received by the team despite the fact Facebook assured the Daily Mail they had been in touch. ***
The Daily Mail has taken up the cudgels with Facebook over the banning of our menopause workshop ad for the event coming up in October – but although the social media platform admitted it had made a mistake, no apology has so far been received by Menopause Support.
The Mail story can be seen here. The story has also been covered by the Wilts and Gloucestershire Standard, which circulates in Tetbury, the location of our 1st October event.
A Facebook spokesperson had told the Mail: ‘Facebook is a place for people and organisations to campaign for the things that matter to them, and Menopause Support is a great example of that.
‘In this instance we made a mistake, and have contacted the group to let them know that the advert has been reinstated. ‘We apologise for any inconvenience caused.’
Diane Danzebrink said no communication had been received from Facebook by the team, however, and the ad had not to her knowledge been reinstated.
Those new to the story may want to see Di’s interview earlier in the week on the BBC2 Victoria Derbyshire news and current affairs TV show.
