\u201cWe don\u2019t allow adverts that promote adult products such as genital surgery, non-surgical breast enhancement or libido-enhancing products\u201d the statement from Facebook added.<\/p>\n
An appeal against the ruling has not had any response, several days later, from the social media platform.<\/p>\n
It would seem menopause really is the last taboo for Facebook, and I\u2019m disgusted by their response to what is an important subject, educating women old and young about the menopause and what it can mean to their lives. This is a subject that affects every woman at some stage in their lives, and I feel this arbitrary \u201cban\u201d is totally unjustified.<\/p>\n
Hardly a day goes by that we are not subjected to images of horrifying cruelty on Facebook \u2013 one repulsive picture of a dog skinned alive in China has stayed in my mind for a long time \u2013 but the platform apparently does nothing to police them, while at the same time making arbitrary and ridiculous decisions such as this.<\/p>\n
We feel very strongly about this, and we will be contacting colleagues in the media to ask them to spotlight this issue.<\/p>\n
