I have always wanted to #makemenopausematter a global conversation as it will affect approximately half of the worlds 7.8 billion population at some point in their lives, but never in my wildest dreams did I hope to be having that conversation with the team from NHK, the Japanese public broadcaster .
A bereaved husband has urged men to recognise signs of mental health symptoms linked to the menopause. Linda Salmon, 56, took her own life last April after her anxiety worsened during the Covid pandemic.
Diane Danzebrink took part in a discussion with Presenter Colin Murray (pictured) on BBC Radio 5 Live this week in which the psychological and physical symptoms of menopause were discussed.

Campaigners celebrated the Government’s pledge to act to help break the menopause ‘taboo’ at a rally in Parliament Square. MPs and TV personalities joined our own campaign founder, Diane Danzebrink outside Parliament to applaud the Government’s announcement that the cost of repeat prescriptions for hormone replacement therapy in England will be significantly reduced. Diane paid tribute to the hundreds of women at Friday’s rally and the hundreds of thousands who have signed the Make Menopause Matter petition online.
How Diane Danzebrink went from potential suicide to found the #MakeMenopauseMatter campaign – her story has inspired many thousands and is retold in today’s Sun newspaper.

For the last decade every October 18th has been World Menopause Day. And this year DI Danzebrink was up with the lark to speak to Sky News presenter Kay Burley about her own menopause experience and to deliver some advice to those women currently going through menopause.
