It was a very great honour to be invited to speak about my role as a menopause counsellor and why women deserve accurate up to date advice and support at The Royal Society last week alongside “Professor and Doctor” experts in breast cancer and HRT and my friends and colleagues Dr Louise Newson, Dr Renee Hoenderkamp, and Katie Taylor, founder of The Latte Lounge.
Appearing at the event was Dr. Avrum Bluming, whose book “Estrogen Matters: Why Taking Hormones in Menopause Can Improve Women’s Well-Being and Lengthen Their Lives — Without Raising the Risk of Breast Cancer” dispels some old myths about HRT.
Around half the audience at the event, which was addressed by oncologists and cancer surgeons, were patients.
“My talk involved telling my own personal story and talking about my role as a menopause counsellor, what it is I do and how I try to offer hope to women who are struggling” Di said afterwards.
The Royal Society filmed the event and we will provide a link to their video here when it is published on their website.
